Punky_Doggy asked:
I decided to go to one of the UCs that accepted me. That’s UCSB. I heard that you can transfer from UC to UC. I wanna go to UCLA in my junior year. I heard that’s it’s hard to transfer from UC to another UC. What should I do while I’m at UCSB to prepare or even overprare to be succesfully admitted to UCLA after those two years? I wanna major something in cinematography, film , acting so that would be applying to the school of film and theater of UCLA. It would be alot of help if you guys give me heads up right now. I don’t want to make the same mistakes in high school. thank you.
or should I just go to comunity college?

i also went to a UC school and transferred. I went from UCSB to UCB. Dont listen to other ppl, if you are doing well at UCSB, you should have no problem getting into UCLA. best of luck to you!

I strongly suggest you talk to your HS career counselor AND someone at UCLA. There are several undergraduate advisory offices and some are dedicated to transfer students.
Having said that, it IS very difficult to transfer, especially from a lower to higher ranked UC. The reason is obvious – the perception that a degree from UCLA or UCB is worth more than one from a different UC. There may, or may not, be some validity in that.
Obviously you need excellent grades. You also need a compelling reason why UCLA has opportunities that cannot be met at UCSB. Finally, while you may have a better opportunity to transfer from CC to UCLA than and inter-UC transfer, I would definitely suggest you continue at UCSB.
